How joining works

Everything runs through Patreon. This site has no checkout.

  1. Pick a tier

    Open the membership page on Patreon and choose All Particles, Scenebuilds + Particles or The full library.

  2. Patreon bills you

    Payment, billing and cancelling are handled by Patreon, from your Patreon account.

  3. Get the files on Patreon

    Everything is delivered through Patreon. This site has no downloads for the paid packs.

  4. Use it in SFM

    Add the files to your Source Filmmaker setup and start directing. The scenebuilds come consolidated in usermod folders.

Before you join

Questions buyers ask

How much does a membership cost?

Memberships start at $20/month. The tiers are All Particles ($20/month), Scenebuilds + Particles ($25/month) and The full library ($30/month). You choose one on the membership page.

Which tier should I pick?

If you mainly need effects, All Particles has the 900+ particle effects. Scenebuilds + Particles adds 30+ scenebuilds with biome types and HDRI setups. The full library adds 600+ animations on top. Each tier includes everything in the one before it, so you can start small. The comparison table lists every difference.

Can I buy a single pack instead?

Yes. One-off packs are sold in the Patreon shop. Many particle packs say on their shop page that they are also included in the $20 tier, so if you want more than one or two, compare the membership first. The pack catalogue below lists them.

Can I try anything for free first?

Yes. Free trials of the Enhanced Fire, Explosions MEGA-PACK, Skibidi V2 and Skibidi Movie Edition particles are on the Steam Workshop, along with other free particle packs and models. See Try before you join or the Workshop page.

What do I need to use the assets?

Source Filmmaker. The scenebuilds are built for stronger setups, so a strong GPU is recommended. The animations are made for HWM characters, HL2 rigs and cameras, and are transposable with the HoovyTools: SFM Transposition Addon.

Can I use them in my own videos?

That's what they're for. Animators across the community build with them. If you make something with the library, send it over.

Is HoovyTools part of the membership?

No. The HoovyTools Blender add-ons, the session importer and Particle Import, are free for everyone; download them on the HoovyTools page. The HoovyTools: SFM Transposition Addon that the animations work with is shown in a tutorial on YouTube, and this site has no download for it. The SFM Particle Resizer script is free too, posted on Patreon for all members, free members included.

How do billing and cancelling work?

Patreon handles both. You join, change tier or cancel from your Patreon account. This site has no checkout and never sees your payment details.

Do I have to pay to learn how this is made?

No. Every skill used to build the library is taught free in the tutorials, sorted Easy, Medium and Hard on the Learn page.
